Rod Runs in Pigeon Forge: Spring and Fall Classic Cars

Pigeon Forge Rod Runs: A Premier Automotive Event in the Smoky Mountains
Twice a year, Pigeon Forge transforms into a showcase of American automotive culture with the return of the Spring and Fall Rod Runs. These popular events attract thousands of visitors who come to admire an impressive lineup of classic cars, hot rods, and custom builds in an atmosphere filled with nostalgia, horsepower, and community spirit.
2025 Event Dates
- Spring Rod Run: April 10–12, 2025
- Fall Rod Run: September 11–13, 2025
Both events are headquartered at the LeConte Center (2986 Teaster Lane), just off the Parkway near The Island, offering ample space for exhibits, vendors, and on-site parking.
A Legacy Since 1983
The Pigeon Forge Rod Runs began in 1983 under the name Grand Rod Run, originally hosted at the former Grand Hotel. While the venue has changed, the tradition remains strong. Traffic Light #6, once the epicenter of the event and still a nostalgic gathering point, continues to hold sentimental value for long-time attendees. The relocation of the official headquarters to the LeConte Center has allowed the event to expand significantly, accommodating more visitors and offering improved facilities and parking.
What to Expect
Each Rod Run spans three days and features:
- Classic & Custom Car Displays: Dozens of award categories, including Top 25 and Ultimate 7 vehicles.
- Swap Meet: One of the largest in the region for vintage parts, collectibles, and gear.
- Cash Prizes: Including a $10,000 grand prize giveaway.
- Automotive Vendors: Showcasing tools, upgrades, accessories, and custom services.
- Cruising the Parkway: The highlight of the weekend—spectators set up along the strip to watch vintage and modern muscle cars cruise well into the night.
Whether you’re a gearhead or just enjoy the sights and sounds, the energy and pageantry of the Rod Run make it a can’t-miss experience.
Planning Tips
- Book early: Lodging fills quickly during both events.
- Expect traffic: Parkway congestion is part of the charm; arrive early and consider alternate routes.
- Come prepared: Bring chairs, cameras, and curiosity—there’s something to see around every corner.
