The Greenbrier Restaurant: Chef-Driven Dining, Wine & Spirits

The Greenbrier Restaurant – Gatlinburg’s Refined Culinary Retreat
Nestled in the wooded hills just minutes from downtown Gatlinburg, The Greenbrier Restaurant offers an elevated dining experience that artfully combines contemporary culinary sophistication with Appalachian charm. Known for its exceptional steaks, chops, and seafood, the restaurant is equally recognized for its attentive service, intimate setting, and robust beverage offerings.
Culinary Excellence
Under the direction of Executive Chef Aaron Ward, The Greenbrier’s menu showcases a carefully curated selection of premium meats and seasonal fare. The restaurant distinguishes itself as the only prime dry-aged steakhouse in the Smoky Mountains, offering cuts such as hand-carved bone-in rib-eye, dry-aged USDA Prime Iowa beef, New York Strip, and Filet Mignon. Guests can also enjoy expertly prepared pork chops, lamb shanks, duck breast, salmon, and flounder, complemented by house-made soups and salads featuring high-quality organic produce.
A Tranquil Setting
Surrounded by forested landscape, The Greenbrier provides a secluded, peaceful atmosphere that feels far removed from the bustle of town—while remaining conveniently accessible. An outdoor fire pit enhances the ambiance, offering guests the chance to relax under the canopy of trees and enjoy the natural surroundings.
Signature Cocktails and Wine
Inside the Walkers Union bar, House Mixologist Brooklyn Steinway has crafted a distinctive cocktail menu with innovative creations rarely found elsewhere. Standout options include the Volstead, Lafitte’s Boulevardier, and Crockett, alongside a substantial collection of bourbons and whiskies. The extensive wine list is available by the glass or bottle, with a special promotion offering half-price wines every Thursday evening.
Atmosphere and Service
Attention to detail is a defining feature of The Greenbrier—from the chef-driven menu to the handcrafted cocktails and exceptional table service. Every element is thoughtfully designed to create a memorable dining experience that reflects both the elegance of fine dining and the warmth of Southern hospitality.
Welcoming Groups and Special Events
While the restaurant maintains an upscale, adult-oriented atmosphere, it welcomes families and groups of all sizes. Two in-house clubs bring together enthusiasts for regular tastings: the Greenbrier Whiskey Society, which explores a wide array of spirits on the third Thursday of each month, and the Greenbrier Women of Wine, a monthly event on the first Thursday dedicated to wine and champagne appreciation.

Dinner service is offered Tuesday through Sunday from 4:30 PM to 9:00 PM. Although walk-ins are accommodated when possible, reservations are strongly recommended due to high demand, particularly on weekends.
